This blog is the outlet for a cheerfully cynical misanthrope who happens to love history, rum, his wife, his dog and a good cigar; not necessarily in that order. It is a catalog of ideas about politics, history, stupidity and perhaps a little food and drink here and there. I am neither democrat nor republican, as on any given day I can hate them equally. I am a proud reactionary in the classical sense. If we cannot have a monarchy let us have a true republic.
